thumbs_up_downTransparency

Tech Publishing aims to be the most transparent media company in Denmark. We work with data commercially just like any other company, but we strive to provide you, as one of our users, with an easy overview of all the data you have given us.

We put a lot of effort into making it clear what we use data for. We are working on the basis of the following principles:

  • Our users should be able to see, update and delete all data they have given us

  • Our users should be able to easily grant and withdraw consent

  • It should be clear how and why we use data

  • It should be clear what benefits our users get by sharing their data

  • We should avoid asking for redundant data

We wrote more on the transparency project here and are always open to establishing a dialogue with you if you have any comments or feedback.

What do you use my data for?

We generally use your data to better show you content we think you are interested in. This includes editorial content such as articles and debates, and commercial content such as jobs.

If you are curious as to exactly why we ask for a certain piece of data from you, you can read about it on this website at the top of each specific section. You can also read about how we personalise jobs and articles.

How do I delete my data?

You can delete all data on your profile yourself, except for your name and email.

If you want to completely delete your account, please let us know, and we will do it for you. All data from your account will be completely deleted or anonymised in this process, and it will not be possible to restore the data once the process is finished.

It can take up to 30 days to complete the process, but it usually only takes a few days at most.

How we personalise articles

We don’t personalise editorial content such as articles and debate on our media sites, but we do offer a personalised newsletter in which the content is based on the interests you’ve added to your profile.

You can visit your Interests page to see what kind of articles will be shown to you through our personalisation. As you add, edit or delete interests, the article list will update.

Interests added through activity

When you use our media sites, we try to determine what interests you have. If we see a pattern, we automatically add editorial topics as interests to your profile. Here’s when we do this:

  • If you read 5 or more articles of the same topic within 90 days
  • If you comment on 2 or more articles of the same topic within 90 days

When an editorial topic is added as an interest to your profile, if you can see it on your Interests page. You can find events regarding your activity on your Timeline.

We are continuously working on improving our personalisation, so we make adjustments based on our internal data and the feedback we receive. This page will be updated if we change the way we personalise editorial content.

How we personalise jobs

With your permission, we show you jobs from a list based on data you’ve added to your profile. You can see your list on the Skills page. The list updates when you add, edit or delete data on your profile.

The point system

A job’s placement in your personalised list is determined by a simple point system. If for example a job matches your job title, it is given 1 point. Different matching user data gives different amount of points.

When all jobs have been assigned points based on your user profile, your personal list is created. Here’s how we give points to jobs:

  • Every job has a base score of 1 point

  • If the job’s title matches your own job title: +1 point

  • If the workplace is within 50 km of your postal code: +1 point

  • If the job includes a skill from your profile: +1 point per skill

  • If the job matches your management level: +1 point

If no jobs suit your profile, we sort by newest job postings first.

Skills added through activity

When you use Jobfinder, we try to determine what skills you have. If we see a pattern, we automatically add job categories as skills to your profile. Here’s when we do this:

  • If you visit 5 or more jobs of the same category within 90 days

  • If you apply for, consider or save 2 or more jobs of the same category within 90 days

When a category is added as a skill to your profile, if you can see it on your Skills page. You can find events regarding your activity on your Timeline.

We are continuously working on improving our personalisation, so we make adjustments based on our internal data and the feedback we receive. This page will be updated if we change the way we personalise jobs.
